Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure customer releases are entered correctly into SAP.
Verify and correct all EDI Import and Exports errors into SAP.
Enter all manual orders from other non-EDI customers into SAP.
Manage planned inventory banks and ramp up plans in SAP.
Ensure daily truck schedule complies with all customer routing instructions.
Work with APQP to setup all new parts in SAP.
Setup Customer packaging instructions in SAP to ensure accuracy of shipping documents.
Schedule the supply of materials and components to meet production requirements and minimize stock levels.
Send releases to suppliers daily/weekly based on MRP requirements and ensure material availability and adherence to frozen schedule.
Ensure appropriate release maintenance through potential changes of MRP requirements, communicate and manage changes with vendors as necessary.
Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from suppliers to point of delivery.
Manage working relationship with the vendors to ensure undisrupted flow of components/raw material.
Day – to – day order management and management of deliveries and set up expedites when necessary.
Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production.
Support Finance in dealing with receiving/invoicing issues.
Communicate receiving discrepancies to vendors.
Update and maintain supplier performance database.
Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule.
Utilize any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required.
Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and update MRP parameters as required.
Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.
Manage and minimize obsolescence stock.
Assist and monitor procedures, methods, and policies designed to improve MRP control efficiency and company profitability.
Advise management of any potential problems or concerns and any opportunities for improvement.
Meet or exceed all objectives and requirements of the business plan.
Answer DDL Ford system on assigned days where applicable.
Education and Experience:
Completion of a college diploma in a related field.
Two years’ of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Two years’ of experience in inventory control.
Good knowledge of MRP systems and computers.
Proficient in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong understanding of production planning scheduling.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
